Description
LOW
MAINTENANCE, with no moving parts and completely covered it avoids
algae build up and any debris being blown in that can spoil the sample. This
unit provides the perfect solution for small and ageing Sewage Works that have
problems meeting the consent levels set by the Environment Agency. Removable
lids provide easy access to the media and in the very unlikely event that the
media blocks then it is easily lifted out enabling it to be washed and
returned. The solids that settle in the centre tank can be taken out and
returned to the start at regular intervals by just opening a valve.
If reeds are preferred
in the central area these will only need cutting once a year and can be reached
from the side of the tank.
These units will serve
any sized plant up to a PE of 200 and of course can be doubled up if need be.
Before obtaining a patent a trial was conducted for more than 18 months at an
Anglian Water Company site, namely Hockwold. STW
